What's love got to do with it?

What's love got to do with it?

Red, pink, teddy bears, and paper hearts are flooding the shops!

It’s that time of year again when we are reminded to let others know we care.
Self-care is an important component to radiating positive energy and love. Taking the time to cultivate self-love is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.
Take time to fill your cup so you can share with the ones you hold dear!

Rose quartz has been thought to be the stone of unconditional love dating back to the time of the ancient Greeks. According to myth, Ares, the Greek god of war came to kill Aphrodite’s lover, Adonis. Aphrodite tried to save Adonis, cutting herself on a briar bush. As the blood spilled, it came together over a quartz crystal, staining the stone pink. Cupid, a Roman god of desire and affection, was said to have bestowed Rose Quartz upon the Earth as a gift of love, passion, and happiness for all.

Rose quartz is one of the most iconic crystals when it comes to matters of the heart. Its pink milky color and positive vibe makes it the perfect ally for attracting a new relationship, loving yourself more, or doing some healing from the past. Try these rituals to tap into your heart and remind yourself that love is truly the foundation of everything.

Meditation for Self Love

Supplies: 2 pieces of rose quartz

Directions: Hold one rose quartz in each hand, close your eyes and feel the weight and energy of the stones. Take 7 deep breaths, inhale deeply filling the belly and lungs and slowly exhale.
Affirm out loud “I am love” repeat this mantra until your heart and your head feel these words are true.
Finish with a few more deep belly breaths and find somewhere flat to down. Place one of the rose quartz over your heart and hold the other in your non-dominant hand. Set a timer for 10 minutes and allow your body to relax. Picture the pink quartz crystal in your minds' eye and know that you are made of love, through all things love is possible. When the timer rings you are finished, keep your stones with you or place them in your bedroom as a reminder to be kind to yourself.

Aphrodite Bathing Ritual

Supplies:

  • 3 pieces of Rose Quartz

  • A Pink or White Candle

  • Pink Rose Petals

  • Sandalwood Incense

  • 9 Drops of your favorite oil (Try our beloved Aprodite’s Enchantment)

  • Pen + Paper

Directions: Friday is the ideal time to do this ritual - the day aligned with Venus, the planet of love. Fill the bathtub with warm water, add one of your rose quartz crystals, the oil, and then sprinkle in the rose petals. Before getting in the bath write down what you want from this ritual, be as detailed as possible, fold the piece of paper three times toward you and place it under the candle. Light the incense and the candle and step into the beautiful bath you have made for yourself. Submerge yourself in the healing waters and allow yourself to relax. Soak for about twenty minutes holding the two remaining rose quartz crystals one in each hand. After the bath, give the rose petals back to the earth, and carry your rose quartz crystals with you in your purse or place them next to your nightstand.
